Terumo Neuro LVIS EVO Intracranial Stent System
The Terumo Neuro LVIS™ EVO™ (Low-profile Visualized Intraluminal Support EVO) Intracranial Stent System is a next-generation braided self-expanding neurovascular stent designed to assist in the endovascular treatment of wide-neck intracranial aneurysms.
Developed by Terumo Neuro (MicroVention), the LVIS EVO provides strong scaffolding across the aneurysm neck to support stent-assisted coil embolization, helping physicians achieve stable coil placement and long-term aneurysm occlusion.
Built using advanced DFT (Drawn Filled Tube) wire technology, the LVIS EVO stent offers enhanced radiopacity, allowing the entire device to be clearly visible under fluoroscopy during deployment. This full-length visibility helps physicians confirm accurate placement and vessel wall apposition, improving procedural precision in complex neurovascular anatomy.
The stent features an optimized braided mesh design with high metal coverage and small cell size, which improves aneurysm neck coverage and can modify blood flow within the aneurysm sac. These characteristics enable the device to function as both a coil-assist stent and a flow-modifying scaffold in selected cases of complex intracranial aneurysms.
Additionally, the LVIS EVO system allows controlled delivery with partial resheathing capability (up to approximately 80%), providing physicians the flexibility to reposition the stent before final deployment for precise placement during neurointerventional procedures.
Key Features
Fully Visible Stent Design: Entire stent body is radiopaque, enabling precise fluoroscopic visualization and confirmation of vessel wall apposition.
Braided Mesh Technology: Advanced braid design provides high metal coverage and improved aneurysm neck scaffolding.
DFT Wire Construction: Drawn-filled tube wire technology enhances radiopacity and device visibility during deployment.
Optimized Stent Opening: Braid angle design improves device expansion and consistent opening along the stent length.
Controlled Delivery System: Allows repositioning and resheathing up to ~80% of the device length for precise placement.
High Conformability: Flexible braided structure adapts to tortuous cerebral vessels and complex bifurcation anatomy.
Microcatheter Compatibility: Designed for use with Headway™ 17 microcatheter systems and compatible neurovascular devices.
Clinical Applications
Treatment of wide-neck intracranial aneurysms
Stent-assisted coil embolization procedures
Endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms
Complex bifurcation aneurysm reconstruction
Neurointerventional procedures for hemorrhagic stroke prevention
