BD Preset™ Blood Collection Syringe
The BD Preset™ Blood Collection Syringe (364314) is a sterile, single-use arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling syringe designed to support critical care blood analysis and diagnostic testing.

Manufactured by BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), this syringe enables clinicians to collect accurate blood samples for laboratory testing such as arterial blood gases, electrolytes, and metabolic markers in emergency and intensive care settings.

The device features a 3 mL syringe with a pre-attached 22G x 1″ needle and BD Luer-Lok™ connection, allowing secure attachment and controlled sampling during arterial puncture procedures. The syringe contains calcium-balanced lithium heparin (approximately 80 IU) to help prevent clot formation and maintain sample integrity for reliable blood gas analysis.

Designed with a preset plunger mechanism, the syringe allows clinicians to preset the desired sample volume while still permitting manual aspiration when necessary. A self-venting membrane automatically expels residual air as the syringe fills with blood, helping improve sample accuracy and reduce the risk of air contamination during collection.
