The Medtronic SpiderFX™ Embolic Protection Device SPD2-050-320 is a distal embolic protection system designed to contain and remove embolic material (thrombus and debris) that may dislodge during interventional procedures. Medtronic states that the SpiderFX device also acts as a guidewire during certain procedures, making it a dual-function embolic protection device for vascular intervention.
