The Medtronic Onyx® 18 Liquid Embolic System (Ref. 105-7200-060) is a non-adhesive liquid embolic agent designed for the endovascular embolization of arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and other complex neurovascular lesions.

Developed by Medtronic Neurovascular, Onyx® 18 is formulated with ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and suspended micronized tantalum powder to provide radiopacity during fluoroscopic guidance.

Engineered to deliver controlled and predictable embolization, Onyx® 18 allows physicians to gradually occlude abnormal vascular structures by forming a cohesive embolic cast within the targeted vessels. Its non-adhesive properties enable longer injection times and improved control compared with traditional embolic agents.
